Our Branding Journey

Our Brand was developed by the very talented Yolka Juzyk (aka yokaona ) based in Spain, through 99designs. Yolka is an Architect by training who fell in love with graphic design and fine arts / illustration. Yolka successfully translated our Brand vision into something truly representative of the seasons.

The choice of two Golden Pheasants as a symbol in our Logo is related to our base in Hong Kong. The Golden Pheasant is a native bird of China where it is revered for its beauty and it is thought of as a solar animal. In Chinese culture the Golden Pheasant is also a sign of good luck and prosperity. Therefore it’s use in our logo conveys authenticity, uniqueness and sophistication which is what we aspire to bring to bear in all of our gifts.

The packaging for the box bands is very unique and responds to the flowers of the Four Seasons. Spring is represented the Orchid, Summer by the Lotus, Autumn by the Chrysanthemum and Winter by the Plum Blossom. These symbols of the seasons are derived from the Chinese tradition of the Four Gentlemen (the Four Noble Ones) as is most typically depicted in ink and wash paintings depicting the unfolding of the seasons through the year.

Each Gift Box is complemented by a Gift Card featuring a personalised message.  In addition, each Gift Box contains details of the unique products contained within, which are wrapped in our custom crepe wrapping paper featuring the feathers of the Golden Pheasant and secured in a custom fit outer packing box to make sure that Gifts arrive in excellent shape.

Business cards featuring the logo and monogram in a clean layout. All elements of the Brand are hand drawn using @yokaona signature cross-hatching style.  The stationery created for our business by @yokaona is aesthetically clean and with touch of authenticity, uniqueness and sophistication.

We were very excited to be nominated for the 2020 - 99designs Awards in the category of Best Packaging Design - a testament to the incredible efforts of @yokaona in developing our brand. This annual awards event showcases the last years best talent and designs created on the 99designs platform.
